The Motion Picture Association (MPA), represented by Chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin, recently strengthened the U.S.–Japan creative alliance through high-level engagements focused on enhancing the regional media landscape. Alongside Yoshishige Shimatani, Chairperson of the Motion Picture Producers Association of Japan (MPPAJ), Mr. Rivkin submitted a Joint Statement to METI Minister Akazawa Ryosei. This statement formally requests a deepening of cultural exchange between the U.S. and Japan through the film industry and strengthening the creative economy. During meetings with senior officials, including Hayashi Yoshimasa and Amari Akira, the MPA underscored its commitment to Japan as a strategic partner in leveraging the power of storytelling to drive significant economic growth and enrich communities across both nations.
