July 3, 2026
On 3 July, the Motion Picture Association (MPA) joined partners at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF), working alongside the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) and the U.S. Embassy Hanoi to support dialogue on the future of Vietnam’s screen industry.
As part of the festival, MPA moderated and programed a panel at the American Film Seminar: “Successful Production Models and Their Application in Vietnam”, bringing together filmmakers, producers and industry professionals to discuss how Vietnam can foster a sustainable and competitive screen ecosystem. Discussions focused on policies that encourage investment, support local creative talent and strengthen intellectual property protection and enforcement.
Throughout the festival, MPA engaged with government representatives and industry stakeholders on issues critical to the continued growth of Vietnam’s film and television sector.
The conversation continued at the American Film Reception, where guests exchanged perspectives on storytelling, creativity and the evolving opportunities for Vietnam’s screen industry. The reception also recognised the contributions of acclaimed actor Jane Seymour and screen legend Kieu Chinh, who were honoured for their longstanding impact on the global film community.
The programme concluded with a special screening of Mortal Kombat II, supported by Warner Bros. Pictures, celebrating the power of storytelling and international creative collaboration.
Together, the events highlighted Vietnam’s growing role in the global screen industry and the importance of partnerships in supporting the development of a vibrant and sustainable creative ecosystem.
