March 17, 2026

At Hong Kong FILMART, the Motion Picture Association’s William Feng highlighted a defining reality for today’s industry: while platforms continue to evolve, the global demand for powerful storytelling remains unchanged.

Speaking at the Forum on International Communication Cooperation and Innovation for a New Vision — organised by the National Radio and Television Administration of China and co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council — he opened discussions on how storytelling has expanded from cinema to the borderless ecosystems of streaming and social media. In this digital-first era, co-creation is emerging as a key driver in crafting stories that resonate across cultures.

The forum also underscored growing opportunities for U.S.–China collaboration, with industry leaders exploring ways to bring Chinese stories to global audiences while delivering high-quality content locally. Conversations further examined how AI and innovation are unlocking new creative possibilities, strengthening cross-border partnerships, and shaping a more connected future for global storytelling.
